Sole Survivor

We finally got the rain I've been longing for! I dashed out in between downpours and took a couple of quick shots. This last petunia won't bloom and I liked the way it looked like a little creature with arms. The flowers have been destroyed by the rain. Oh well, it's nearly time to put the garden to bed for the fall and winter anyway. Still have lettuce, arugula, beets and carrots to enjoy for awhile. I'll probably pick the beets when we come home from the mainland but I'll cut the greenery off the carrots and cover them with straw to enjoy into the fall.
Our power went off briefly this morning. G had a dental appointment early in the afternoon. A little piece chipped off a molar on Friday, and he called this morning to see if he could get in. Luckily he could. It wasn't bothering him and he just needed a bit of the existing filling replaced. The power had been off at the dentist's office too, for longer than ours was off, but it was back on by the time G went in.
Looking forward to seeing family tomorrow!
