Not Far From Wherever

By ensea

The crows coming in to roost.  I only just caught them and in the low light they're blurred, but they're a sight to see swooping in en masse past the office building across the street.

There was a large roost in the Irvington neighborhood where we used to live, the mega-roost would only happen during fall and winter and I was curious so called the local Audobon, I was told this is what crows do in winter, safety in numbers and then in summer they are in their smaller family units, nesting, raising their young.  It's pretty interesting to witness each evening, raucous, but once settled down for the night you'd never know they were there.

They're fascinating birds.

Back to California tomorrow morning.
