Night of the Notables

Elizabeth's class put on "The Night of the Notables" this evening.
Each student chose a notable person, researched them and set up a little stall to present to visitors.

There were characters from Aristotle to Freddie Mercury, Catherine the Great (who could actually speak Russian) to Keanu Reeves.

They all dressed the part and were very well informed and articulate.
Many had things to hand out. My favourite was the lolly iguanas from Charles Darwin :-)

Elizabeth did Bernard O'Reilly
He was the only local character having been born in the Blue Mountains and he actually lived for several years in our farmhouse in the Megalong Valley.
He later moved to the Lamington Plateau in Queensland so Elizabeth's handout was lamingtons (cakes)!
His main claim to fame was using his bushman's skills to locate a missing plane in 1937 and rescue the two survivors.

PS. It was also Henry's 5th birthday so Happy Birthday Henry :-)
