Midsummer meadow

Ben and I both had check-ups at the dentist today - he had a clean bill of health but I need a small filling - so expensive!

I managed an evening walk to Thorpe Meadows where the small hay-meadow was looking very colourful, with a mix of soft-yellow pepper saxifrage, golden-yellow meadow buttercups, pinkish-purple common knapweed and the burgundy-red flowers of great burnet, a species that grows most abundantly in the floodplains of large rivers, though it can grow in other types of damp grassland.
