Learning to fly

I watched the six cygnets in Queens Park having a flying lesson from mum and dad.

The adult swans took off from one end of the pond and flew just above the surface while the youngsters flapped along behind them. Plenty of power in their wings but just not enough to get them airbourne yet. The process was repeated a number of times and then it was playtime for the cygnets.

I'm so glad that Poppy and Mia are quite happy to stand and wait while I watch.
