Baler Boab and Baler Neil ..

A busy one today while the sun shone.
Headed off down the road to bale the grass that was cut on Monday. If I was brave enough to take the gamble it would maybe have made hay in a couple of days. However the forecast is talking about rain by Sunday . So I baled 23 acres and hauled them home to wrap with plastic. It should make nice haylage .110 bales off 23 acres wasn’t bad for 2nd cut with no extra fertiliser. Had them all wrapped by 8 pm.
The other baler did the other 53 acres . It bales and wraps all in one , leaving the wrapped bales in the field ready to haul home. The only down side is that the crows are quite good at pecking holes in the plastic.
Came home and baled some more oat straw. Wee brother finished combining them tonight so that is harvest 2019 finished. Hopefully I will get the last 40 acres of straw baled tomorrow . Then it’s hauling home all the bales( if I can remember all the fields round Midlothian they are sitting in ! )
Also about 200 odd tons of barley to dry and all the winter barley to sow . So not quite finished yet !
