My topsy-turvy life

Climate Strike Shrewsbury

So proud of these kids, joining so many others around the world, to protest against the climate emergency we're currently living through. It is their future and their sense that something actually needs to be done to halt global warming and the mass extinction event we seem to be living in is palpable. The fact that they feel so disenfranchised and that their futures are not being considered by those in power should make all of us feel ashamed.

Owen and me had taken the car into town for its MOT and went along to join in the protest for a little while. We saw them in the Market Square here before running into them moving up Pride Hill and then, later on, in the Quarry.
Meanwhile we had a lovely time having lunch in the Market Hall, then off to the Quarry to play in the playground on the swings and the slide. Tired out after all that effort, Owen slept while we did a spot of geocaching on the walk home.
