Crochet

Spent the afternoon at a fundraising event at the local church, which I visited for the first time ever at the insistence of my friend Sharon, who had organised said fundraiser (happy to report no thunderbolts as I stepped over the threshhold).
It was quite an imaginative affair - apparently many women have a once-worn wedding dress in the attic and Sharon persuaded 30 of them to lend her those dresses which she then organised into a parade of changing styles through the ages.  The oldest one was a family heirloom from the 1890s,  there was a beautiful lace one from the 40s made out of a lace tablecloth and some fab 60s versions.  My personal favourite for sheer confidence was this one from the 70s which the bride had crocheted for herself!!
