Hay bale

Went for a much longer than anticipated walk this morning, but was so loving being out. It was much warmer than expected, and really humid, and the autumn colours really shone.

There is a huge hay bale in one of the fields, and this is a detail from that.

On the walk home, as I was passing one of the fields, I became aware of some movement. Stopped and stayed still for a few minutes - loads of rats reappeared! They looked very healthy, with very shiny coats, but I was glad they weren't too close!
