Whoops, If only I had a net !

Back blip
Lots of blips to catch up on after over a week away.
We left home after Mike had mowed the lawn and I had sorted out the house and packed.
We were going to stop at the Highland Farm cafe for lunch but there were no tables inside and it was too blowy outside so we carried on our journey through heather clad hills with lovely views across to Dornoch. Next stop was the Falls of Shin where we had a good soup and bread. We then went for a walk through the forest.The weather was better by now with lovely fluffy cloudy and blue skies.Lots of different fungi around. We reached the falls and watched the salmon leaping, quite a few tiddlers and then a few bigger ones including this one that managed to jump the big falls but missed the water and ended up on the rocks.Luckily he was a good wiggler and managed to get back in the water and swim away. So colourful.
On to our over night stay in Lairg.A great room decorated in stags with views over Loch Shin.
We went for a meal in the Achness Hotel ,in the middle of no where.I had salmon which was very tasty and we shared a pudding each, waffle and strawberries and a hot banana doughnut, yummy.
A drive around before going back and we saw a hedgehog crawling across the road and two red legged partridges.
I had a sip of complimentary whisky before going to bed.
