Sail Away

Out sailing on Trinity Sailing Trust's Provident today.  As a trustee of the charity I thought it was important to take some of the people responsible for investing in our disadvantage young people's courses on a trip to see for themselves the benefits that come from learning self-reliance, teamwork and new challenges.   They loved the experience despite less than ideal sailing conditions (at least it wasn't raining).

Provident was built in 1924 and is kept operating by money from grants and other sources. The young people's courses are funded from trusts and individuals and ring-fenced.  Many of these children have never seen the sea, much less been on a traditional sailing boat, but after a week of being in charge they return with new-found confidence and a much more positive outlook on life. This can make a big difference to the courses of their lives.
