Breakfast for Dinner

Ham steak, scrambled eggs with cilantro and piment d’espelette, and toast with strawberry jam. Dessert (not pictured) was some dark chocolate and the rest of last night’s cabernet.

The jam was readymade and came with a CSA box. The bread is mine and I’m pleased with how it came out—made with whole wheat flour, a quarter of which was replaced with casein powder to make a high protein bread (I used diastatic malt powder to help the whole wheat rise, and vital wheat gluten to supplement the gluten ratio lost to the protein powder).
