Can a house look sad?

This was George's house in Harry Stoke, near Bristol. We used to live opposite. George died in 2003 or 2004, and left the house, in which he'd lived about 70 years, to his coalman (that's right, the person who sold him coal). I've been wondering what the coalman would do with it. The house is in poor condition and very tiny, and he might have knocked it down and built three or four new houses on the site. As it is, he seems to have cleared the garden (George's pride and joy, though he neglected it quite a bit in later years), and the house looks sad. It might be its haircut!
