Life through the lens...

The rock garden.

WOW! How lucky we have been with today’s weather.
Just perfect for our visit to St Michael’s Mount.
I was so looking forward to seeing the gardens, and was certainly not disappointed.
They were stunning, even if the terrain was challenging to say the least. All part of the fun!
Glad we were one of the first to enter as within 10 mins.it was very busy.
After a refreshing coffee, we climbed again to see the castle.
It is about 40years since we last looked round.
Must say I found it more interesting this time.
Extras of the beautiful Blue Drawing Room. Designed and furnished in the early 1750s by the 4th Sir John St Aubyn, who is the paterfamilias in the family portrait over the fireplace.
2nd Extra View of Marazion from the castle.

3rd extra. A painting we both loved. Painted by the Cornish artist John Miller in 1979.
Shows the first sighting of the Spanish Armada in 1588. It was here the first beacon was lit.

We walked out to the Mount on the causeway, but as the tide was in we caught a boat back to the mainland. A bit choppy. See extra .
Finished off with a pasty sat outside beside the sea.

A fabulous day.
