Victim of strong wind

I was surprised to see that 'my tree' from last January (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2530131713355418069), which was hanging in against the odds has now succumbed to the ravages of severe weather and decay in its exposed site.  

Surprisingly, although I identified strongly with this tree at the time when I photographed it, as a survivor under harsh conditions, I was exited rather than saddened to see it in its current state.  Through time things change, and this tree is following its destiny, to decay and become part of the soil, which may, one day, support a forest again.
