Vekaransalmi bridge

Having an afternoon drive to check out the new bridge at Vekaransalmi in Sulkava. Another reason was to meet my buddy, who is the project manager of the whole construction site. He was also interviewed to local TV news about the project and event. You might see it here at least in Finland. His interview is the first subject of news.

Bridge is 639 meters long and 5th longest in Finland and in my (and project managers) opinion N:o 1 if considering scenery from the top!  I could imagine how gourgeous place that would be to photograph auroras, because it locates far in the countryside and hardly no light pollution around. In a fact, they have built sightseeing places on the bridge, so it would be also safe to take photos on it. The best part is that there aren't any street lambs on bridge either. Only under the bridge for the ships.

Currently there is a ferry carying cars over the water 24/7. Officially bridge will be open for traffic on mid October. In the extra fisheye view from the bridge.
