Lower Burnmouth, just one road down a steep hill

That's the tiny fishing village of Burnmouth , the first village in Scotland, right on the Border though actually it consists of an upper and lower area, and four tiny hamlets down below!

And like all the local villages it was decimated in the great storm
Burnmouth lost 24 fishermen, drowned, in the 1881 Eyemouth Disaster. This is commemorated on a bronze plaque mounted on the harbour wall.
Hardly a man survived
