Generations

The onslaught of the Goldfinches on our feeders continues. The flock seems to consist of about 30 birds, and at one point I counted a record 15 on our feeders. Looking at their plumage, there are some adults, some quite newly fledged, and some somewhere in between. We also had a flying visit from a Pied Wagtail. What's going on?
