Sunrise...

………………at Motueka, NZ


After the unveiling and blessing of the sculpture featured as an Extra, we made our way to the seaward side to watch the sun rising across the Tasman Bay.

This sculpture, presented by the Motueka Arts Council to the community of Motueka celebrates more than 30 years of service by the group to this area of NZ.

“The sculpture represents the diverse cultures that continually arrive and depart our shores, adding their artistic endeavours, skills and knowledge to Motueka’s art culture.”

It also takes into account the diversity of arrivals and departures of migratory shore birds, fish and sea mammals.

Early this morning, before sunrise, there was an unveiling and blessing which was followed later in the morning with the formal presentation of the sculpture to the community.
