Final Friday Open Mic

Jazz on Tap are the usual hosts for the open mic night. They are all top musicians who are able to accompany more or less anyone who wants to sing or play anything.

Unfortunately, they were unavailable so we stepped in.
What a fun night. We opened with a short set and then handed over to a great variety of acts, we had Allen guitar and vocals, Henry (pictured), a Hendstock favourite who has more energy than the national grid, Ted was back with 5 songs, played brilliantly and I think is over last weeks annoyances. Then a little girl got up and played a couple of short pieces on the Clarinet, she was fantastic and got the biggest cheer of the night. There was a blues trio playing cigar box guitars, a rock and roll band and of course more Accelerants with added Alfie who played Eruption and then did a couple with us. Our second set was only 10 songs and went by in a flash, what a brilliant night. I think because it's not an Accelerants gig, there is less pressure so we enjoy it more, it's also a great place to test new songs.
