Everybody needs good neighbours

Very early start due to just not sleeping. Took advantage to do some baking. Then a couple of neighbours arrived to chip the loose plaster off the wall that is bothering my not-good-neighbour. Here Daniel is standing on a ledge about 6 inches wide, on the second floor, holding on to a window frame of dubious stability.

Once it was all chipped, axed, and hammer-drilled off, we tidied up, chatted, then got on with our days (which in my case involved putting together the goodies I had bought to say thank you to the lovely neighbours).

It is this, this sense that you help out not for a definite return, but just because that's what you do, that makes a community for me. It's a trite point, but it is good when you spent the wee small hours dispairing over twitter, to remember most people are great.

In other news, I still don't nap well and spent the afternoon and evening in a daze, but Mr B had fun on Islay and we are apparently moving there.
