The Church at Witley Court Worcestershire.
I went to a meet up with some people from A Year With My Camera. (AYWMC). Like a blip meet really.
We went into the Church to see the magnificent ceiling but there was a Christening service about to take place so we only had time to grab a couple of shots.
Then we looked around the ruin of the great Country House. ( extra)
I imagine it was very splendid before it was burnt down in 1937.
It has its roots in Norman times dating back to 1086, then was rebuilt on a grand scale by the Russel family, and then bought by the Foley family who made their money in the Iron industry. It was sold at various points then the fire finished it off. It was never lived in again.
