Visiting Hildasay

A fine enough day.  Mostly cloudy, with a sunny late afternoon.

It was a lazy morning around the house, and watching telly with the lasses.  We headed out for a run in the boat in the afternoon. The lasses headed away at teatime, and said my goodbyes to Eve, as she'll be heading back to uni tomorrow.  I'm working a longer shift in the pub tonight.

We had a great run out in the boat, and stopped off for a hike over the isle.  After visiting the house, we then headed to the old granite quarry.  The quarry was in production in the 1890s, and the stone was bought for ballast.  Some of the granite can still be found in old building in Melbourne, and also old skyscrapers in New York.  Here's Eve, Elise and Sammy above the granite quarry, Hildasay.
