Reikes small life...

By Reike

It felt good to come home after work and not having to stay in my flat-share. Relieve. At home.

On the way back I listened to a documentation in which they interviewed two ladies, one a singer, one an actor and director, about ageing as a woman and starting their careers in a time when everything was dominated by men.

The actor told about how difficult it was for her and her female colleagues back then to "be famous" and to promote their own movies. As a man, they could have just gone for lunch with a reporter, have a few drinks, good chat and celebration, then placing the words that would end up in a good article about their film. The actress wanted to do something like that, she was starring in this movie that also had a very great female director, a pretty lady, too. She got a reporter to meet with this lady director, they talked about the movie for two hours over lunch, and he wrote a very good review about the movie - then his wife wanted to divorce him!!! Understandably the reporter never wanted to interview a female actor again and write a good review.

If you understand German, here you can listen to the interview.
