The next stage

By MySisterCissie

I started reading this book today...I first read it about 25 years ago. It's the second in a series of five books, following a family through the years from 1937, and I have all of them now, having got the fifth in hardback in Poundland recently, so I'm enjoying working my way through them.

Since reading this the first time, I have read Elizabeth Jane Howard's autobiography, "Slipstream", and I recognise a lot of the themes in these books from her life, which is making it more interesting.
