Chiddingstone Castle

We visited Chiddingstone Castle today which for 300 years was the home of the Streatfield family. More recently the castle was owned by bank clerk and antique dealer Denys Eyre Bower and it is he who left the castle and his collection of antiques into a trust which opens the building to the public.

Chiddingstone village is owned by the national trust and is very old and quaint, but too many cars were parked outside the buildings for any decent photography.

A great day out in the sunshine trying to ignore the cold wind coming from the north!
