Sailing in Mote Park

The pace picked up as the day progressed reaching a peak as I caught the train from Bearsted this evening on route for Birmingham with a minute or two to spare.

It was a quiet start with a bit of pottering on the computer early on then a walk with a coffee stop. The biblical deluges from yesterday had given way to early autumn sunshine and a stiff north westerly breeze which proved to be good fun for these young sailors on the lake in Mote Park.

I had two remaining fence panels to paint, today seemed an ideal time to get them done. No rain and sunny. At 2.30 I started, managing to complete the last panel at 5.00pm. Lots of cleaning up and putting away so it was 5.30 when we sat down for dinner and the train was at 6.22.

“All” that remains to do with the final panels is to install them. That’s more of a challenge than you might think. There’s lots of vegetation growing over and through the existing fence mainly from next door. Then there’s a couple of sheds in the way.
