Winter is coming

Last night we had our first hard frost of the autumn and it cruelly spelled death to the aerial growth of tender plants. The Hungarian Pumpkin plant, Squashes, Courgettes, Marrow, Tomatoes and late Potato plants look as if a plague has struck them down overnight or someone has detonated an incendiary or nuclear device nearby.
Makes one think how cruel nature can be and how fragile life is when a difference on one or two degrees in temperature can mean the difference between life and death. What does climate change and global warming mean for life on earth and the many species of flora and fauna we share it with?
