But, then again . . . . .

Another Old Lady.

Meg is a "borrowed" dog, long past her best, in terms of supplying the filling for rabbit pie, but now, nicely mellowed. She's a typical lurcher, likes a good walk followed by a good sleep and a good dinner, and has developed the skill of taking a biscuit from your hand to an art form - you don't notice it's missing until you raise your hand to your mouth - a talent learned from growing up in a family with small children; she has such a delightful nature that it would be a heartless sole who could deliver even the mildest of admonishments.
Her owner is a recent winner of "The Turner" prize, that's an iron sculpting donated by a blacksmith, Andrew Turner of Penicuik, for use as a trophy by the local community arts association in their annual exhibition. I have sat for her a few times but those pictures didn't win anything, can't imagine why.

Perhaps I could offer Mrs Painter a print of this for use as subject matter, then maybe I could get a blip containing Meg, Mrs P, the blip, and a half finished painting all together - but perhaps that would be a bit presumptuous.

We often make use of Meg as we are carers for Merlin, a corgi who likes company; he's not keen on going for walks unless he's in a crowd, daft dog.
