Life through the lens...

Barbara's Garden.

How lucky are we!!  What fabulous weather for our last day, and trip to St Ives on the train.
( Although nearly missed the train as we didn't know the Park and Ride at Lelant had closed, and it was a quick dash to St Erth with three minutes to spare.)

A walk round the harbour, and to the Cafe at Porth gwidden Beach.
We sat on the new terrace. The wind was really whipping up the sea, and it was wonderful just sitting there watching the waves crashing over the rocks.
Two dogs having a whale of a time chasing one another in and out of the waves.
A little tiny tot running in and out of the sea. Not a stitch on, and she was loving it, along with her little dog.

Eventually reluctantly moved on. The wind round the corner on Porthmear Beach  nearly blew us away!
Had a look in several galleries, and I treated myself to a beautiful tiny embroidered silk painting. The detail of the embroidery is superb.
Artist Carol Bynoth.

Feeling peckish it was pasty time again, and we ate them sat in the sunshine by the harbour.  Managed to keep the seagulls at bay,

Then it was up the hill to visit the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
Have been before, but quite a few years ago.
Such a beautiful garden which she laid out with help from her friend Priaulx Rainer.
She lived and worked at Trewyn Studios for 26 years until her death in a fire on the premises in 1975.
Most of the bronzes are in the positions where she placed them.
I just love this garden, and the sculptures. Magical place.
( Pity it was quite busy today. Last time we had it to ourselves.)

So a collage for my blip today, and for Flower Friday too.

Thank you all for your kind comments hearts and stars over the last few days.
Sorry behindhand with comments.

Extras...Barbara’s studio, and view from the cafe, also modern artists studio.
