Common Darter v. common lizard

I watched a common lizard stalking this common darter. The dragonfly flew off every time the lizard got within striking distance landing a few inches further away. It did this several times before the lizard gave up. I wish i'd photographed the two together but I was too pre-occupied watching the spectacle.
