Life through the lens...

The Fosse Way.

Home again.
We had a wonderful overnight stay with our friends K and G. Not forgetting Scrumpy the dog, who is 8 years old today.
Last night started with a bottle of sparkling white wine, and then a wine tasting.
Three Italian red wines which they had brought back from their holiday earlier this year. What a treat, and all excellent.
( Please note we didn’t drink it all,)
Then had a delicious evening meal with an Italian theme. The highlight was a duck lasagne. Fabulous.

We had a good journey home, Warm sunshine all the way until about 5 miles from home.
Then rain and the temperature dropped to 12C.
First job switch the central heating on.

This photo was taken at the top of the Fosse Way. Our favourite route.
An old Roman Road that linked Exeter to Lincoln. 220 miles.
From the M5 we cut across country and join it at Stow- on - the - Wold, and leave where it joins the A5. Then drive the rest of the way up the M1.

Lovely end to our holiday, and already booked again for next year.
