Apple pressing

Apple day dawns with a little autumn sunshine. We have gathered three large boxes of apples from our orchard, mostly Bradley’s Beauty grown by our friend who is hosting the pressing.
The apples are chopped with a garden shredder (used only for this though!).
Then they are packed into a stack of cakes wrapped in mesh, piled on the lever operated press. The juice comes gushing out!
Then we brought it home and froze as many bottles as we can fit, and the rest is already fermenting in a couple of demijohns!!
