Badger Day

Evening visitors like this one regularly come snuffling around our patio on the hunt for food. It’s especially timely today, because it’s National Badger Day. According to the Badgers Trust, they are an incredibly long-standing part of British wildlife. Badgers have existed here for half a million years. They once co-existed in the countryside with wolves, brown bears, arctic foxes and wolverines. Today they roam our garden along with foxes and the occasional rabbit.
