Time to remember

Today we went to see Mr Toads Uncle Alex who is 90yrs old.

Up to a few weeks ago we didn't know much about him, even if he was still alive.
I have been researching the Toad family history for a few years and just before Christmas through the Ancestry website, I discovered someone else was researching the same family tree.

She turned out to be a long lost cousin living abroad & she said her father (who was MrT's dads half brother ) only lived 35 miles away from us.

Uncle Alex was very pleased to see us & we took him out to lunch, he looked very dapper in his tweed jacket & hat, then we went back to his house to look through some old family photos that we'd brought with us and he told us many, many stories of the old days.

A lovely old man.
