Funeral For A Friend

This morning it was a walk up the hill in warm sunshine past the deciduous trees either in full leaf or emerging.  There is still some snow on the mountains to the south of us but it did feel as if another season is beginning on our hill.  This afternoon it was a drive over to Motueka for the funeral of a friend who died suddenly last week and what a full and worthwhile life he lead.
The blip is the first photo I took this morning before I put on my walking shoes.  This fern grows below the back deck and catches the morning sun.
To everything there is a season
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
