A pie with your name on it?

We are in the Samuel Taylor Coleridge Museum in Nether Stowey and this is a pie bearing his wife's signature. Apparently in those long gone days ordinary folk didn't have ovens and so you would take your pie to the local baker to be cooked and to differentiate between your pie and your neighbours you would have a signature design.... I thought you may be interested....
