Day 8

Been there, dune that

This morning we headed over to the coast to visit Dune du Pilat - Europe's largest sand dune which stands 110m above sea level and is 500m wide and 2.7km long.

The ascent (and descent) was made easier by temporary staircase and seeing the sheer scale from the top was impressive as were the views.

It was also vertigo inducing for me but I did relax enough to enjoy, although I elected not to walk too far (which was tough going in the sand anyhow).
We drove along the coast for a bit, stopping at one resort and I even had a paddle in the sea (in October ! ).

Back in Bordeaux we enjoyed Canele (traditional sweet cake) and a visit to Catherdral.

An other good day and can't believe we have now been in France for a week. Time flies.
