Sgwarnog: In the Field

Drop

The annual conker drop is almost over. In my lunchtime haunts they lie neglected, I guess the students have grown out of them and have yet to learn the joys of conker gathering with children.

I can’t stop myself filling my pockets, and last week I emptied a pile out on a spare desk at work and encouraged my colleagues to use them to make shapes and patterns. So far we’ve had a smiley face, a peace sign, a snake and a star. If nothing else it’s provided a talking point when people drop by and perhaps injected something playful into the office environment.

Today’s image sees an autumnal drop on one of the gravestones in St Georges Fields.
