Mucking about...

...on the river!
We ended our walk today fdown in the village to see the arrival of the new gig. Oscar was fascinated by all the people going down the slipway with their canoes and then going down the river. He also rather liked the look of the ducks! I took him onto the playing field and had a look at the Calstock Flood Defence Improvement and Habitat Creation Scheme. The Pilings they put in 5 years ago had failed so it was decided to move the sheep and flood their field! This will make 11 hectares of intertidal habitat! I'm hoping this will mean lots of interesting wildlife for me to blip!
I didn't get to see the new gig going in the water as by now Oscar had got very excited at the ducks and canoes so it was time to go home! Apparently it was put on the water later in the afternoon!
