St Conan's Kirk

Glad my seat on a Sunday is slightly more comfortable!

Known as Argyll's Hidden Gem.
The kirk attracts visitors from all over the world with its magical setting and easily reached location. From the road the Kirk gives few clues about the amazing architecture both inside and out.

PS
Designed and built by Walter Douglas-Campbell, the Kirk is unique in having an example of almost every style of church architecture. Highlights include the Norman doorway, the Gothic flying buttresses, a Celtic cross, the Arts and Crafts carvings, the Saxon tower and even a Stone circle.

L and I visited this church today as we journeyed to our three night stay at Portsonschan ..... a beautiful location on Loch Awe ..... visibility nil, rain torrential!

PS .... Internet connection very poor and not in the rooms so there will be no commenting until we get to Elie on Sunday :-((
