Getting the sparkle back

At Tantallon Castle, not far from North Berwick. The castle dates from 1350, although various additions took place throughout its life as a fortified castle which ended in 1651 when it was besieged by Oliver Cromwell's troops and suffered severe damage. There's more about its history here. I don't know if these stones date back to 1350, but they certainly look pretty weathered!

T and I spent a happy few hours here, clambering about the site and ascending the towers. There are amazing views of the sea and the Bass Rock from the castle.

Afterwards we stopped off at Drift, a cafe on top of the cliffs near to Tantallon Castle with superb views too. Well worth a visit!
