It was a pretty good day earlier, (pouring rain at the moment) so I walked into town via Hallowhill & the Lade Braes. I’m sure I’ve blipped Lawmill Cottage before from the same spot, but it’s always different. My old landlady Bessie, who became a close friend despite a big age gap, lived here during WW2, it was really isolated then. She said she never worried about being alone I. The blackout except for the danger of falling in the burn after dark! She was a lovely, funny person.
I had a coffee in Janettas, where I haven’t been for a while, it was quite busy & very noisy. A quiet night at home again, a wee whisky & an early night I think.
