Meeting the founder

**Backblip**

It was wonderful to meet one of the founders of West Norwood Feast, Dougald Hine, from Spacemakers. His company aimed to create spaces for the community to come together. One of his first projects was Brixton Market, which he acknowledged didn't go as he hoped because it became a capitalist venture. West Norwood Feast, however, is still run by volunteers and we are certainly not for profit.

I became involved with the community market a year after it began and Dougald had left by then to move on to other projects, happy that West Norwood Feast was in good hands. Of the original volunteers, three of them were able to come to the dinner, and our current coordinator came along, too.

Dougald is here to talk at Design Museum's symposium Convival Tools on cooperative societies.
