Edible Hibiscus Flowers

This is my Hibiscus Sabdariffa plant, otherwise known as Cranberry Hibiscus or Roselle. It has a smaller flower than the typical ornamental hibiscus. The flowers are edible, as are the leaves, but mostly I am going to use the bright red calyxes which hold the seed pods. I was going to preserve them in syrup to put in drinks like champagne, but I realized after I had harvested them and dehydrated them, that they have to be used fresh for that purpose. So I will just use them to make a delicious tea which is supposed to be good for high blood pressure. I will save some of the seed pods and plant them again for next years harvest if I can!
