Do You See the Ant?

On top of that huge long, mountain of dirt, is a giant  land mover.  If you were standing next to it, it would be about 2 stories tall.   That mountain of dirt used to be the topsoil of 5,000 acres of pasture land, hay fields, and oat fields.    The soil here is very special, with only one state in the US that can sustain Blue grass.  That state would be Kentucky.  The blue grass sustains horses and cattle in a way that is far superior to regular grass.
The land is being stripped to make way for a housing community that would build 9-10,000 homes.   In the second picture you can see the dust that comes up from the 10 wheel dump trucks as they shuttle the top soil from the acres of land.  It is the first step to start digging pipe lines, sewer lines, electric lines, rain water management.  You can't see all of the 100-200 year old Oak trees that were ripped up and dumped off to the side.
I stopped to get these photos and feel my heart ache as the land was being destroyed, I thought of all the small animals whose homes were being destroyed.   Rabbits, coyote, deer, armadillo, possum, raccoon.......
They all have lost  their habitat.
