Wednesday wandering

Lots of photos on my camera but not downloaded yet.

A damp.morning as it rained overnight. Pre breakfast walk.with Fletch then another through the woods by the hotel.  Had fun collecting chestnuts.. so fresh they were falling off the tree..

Then up to Rufford Abbey. The sculpture park was closed as they were setting up lights for a special night performance at the weekend but we still had a pleasant walk round the lake.
Blip is of their maple walk. It should look stunning in a couple of weeks once the Autumn colours appear

We were going to eat in the cafe but it was hot, smelly and full.of screaming children so we went back to the car . Emergency rations of Danish pastries snaffled from breakfast and biscuits and our flask of coffee. Bad planning for Fletch as Id left his 'lunch ' in the hotel!

As we drove back , the sun finally made an appearance. What a difference to the scenery.

Fletch enjoyed his late lunch and then was ready for a good sleep!

Early nights for us again. I'm normally a midnight bedtime sleeper. But not on holiday!
Back home tomorrow... The long scenic way.. to avoid the Manchester ring road  I'm hoping A1 and A65 is a more relaxing drive..certainly more scenic
