Keila Juga

Another day visiting areas we have not visited before. This time Paldiski and Keila in northwestern Estonia.

First we drove to the town of Paldiski which was a closed town in the Soviet era because of its naval base, nuclear submarine training centre and also practice bombing area. According to Wikipedia, the latter two didn't fit very well together, though the worst didn't happen. It was close though. Nothing remarkable photographywise in the town, so on to the next stop.

North of Paldiski, at the tip of the Pakri peninsula there's the Pakri lighthouse on top of a 24-metre high limestone cliff. The extras are of the cliff and the lighthouse, with the ruins of the old lighthouse which was partly demolished in 1889.

The main blip is of the Keila Waterfall. It's third biggest in Estonia, with six metres height and 60-70 metres width. A beautiful area with park and a little palace nearby.
