Hebridean scene

Another trip to try and re-find the Myrtle Warbler but with no success. The view from the garden where it has been is however stunning as you can see here.
The only other birder was a rather despondent Scottish lady who had done the five hour drive from Glasgow and come over on the ferry just to see the bird on Thursday when it was last seen on Wednesday. She spent five hours in the garden on Thursday and was in her fourth hour today when I spoke with her. 
There was the beginning of an air if resignation that the bird was not going to show. "If I had known how much cover there was here, I probably wouldn't have come" she was heard to mutter.
A lads' night out in the pub tonight - well three of us with a combined age of nearly 200 probably makes the word lads a trifle optimistic.....
