IVXLCDM

A Roman mural on a rail tunnel in Bocholtz by artist Miriam Vleugels.
This tunnel is not so much appreciated by the locals because they think it is marred.
I went to take a look to take a picture, but I find the traffic signs and lights more disfiguring.
The Roman numerals IVXLCDM is also on the tunnel. I assume this is a joke from the artist because this is not possible. Well if you read it from the back to the front then it represents the year 1666.
A bit unusual because the only thing I could find with 1666 and the town of Bocholtz was that in that year the Overhuizen farm was purchased by Edmond Godfried von Bocholtz. This influential man was the country commander of the Alden Biesen bar within the German Knighthood.

He transferred Overhuizen to a converting foundation with which he intended to support a noble person who would become a Protestant-Catholic. This became Edmond Otto Baron von Rochau (+ 1679).

What this has to do with the Romans who had settlements in this area, I don't know!
